Happy New Year Message From Our Executive Director

Hi there.  My name is Jeff Merritt.  I’m the Executive Director of John Knox Village East and Meyer Care Center and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year.  We are excited to put 2020 behind us and move on to a better new year as I’m sure many of you are.  While 2020 brought with it many unforeseen challenges, it also carried many unexpected blessings.  The people who call John Knox Village East and Meyer Care Center home, as well as those who serve our residents every day have been an inspiration.  We’ve been inspired by their resilience, their positive attitudes and their acts of kindness and selflessness.

We are proud that we’ve been able to get through the challenges of the last year as a family.  Like many families across this country, we’ve experienced loss and sadness over the last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but by and large we’ve been successful at keeping everyone safe and healthy.  That health extends beyond curtailing Covid-19.  We’ve been able to keep our John Knox Village East and Meyer Care Center family nourished, physically healthy and emotionally well.  We’ve been able to achieve this with safety protocols, health checks, wellness programs, social programs, grocery shopping and more.  We’ve also been on the front lines of protecting our family from the Covid-19 pandemic by being one of the first to receive the vaccine.

We are hopeful that this vaccine in conjunction with the other protocols will allow all of us to return to a sense of normalcy in 2021.  Our wish for you is that this year is filled with happiness, peace of mind and good health for you and your family.
